What a blast we had in Idaho! We went up to Sun Valley, where Heith got his start in drywall, to attend the first annual US Hemp Building Summit. The summit, put on by our good friend Mattie Mead, was a massive success both in terms of turnout and response. And, as always, it was fantastic to see him. Visit hempitecture.com for more info on Mattie, hempcrete, and hemp building. After the summit had concluded, we had the pleasure of working with Ryan Chivers (Limestrong creator) and numerous folks of all different skill levels to teach Limestrong application.
Immediately upon group introductions, we were blown away by how many people came out to Sun Valley with such enthusiasm to learn about Limestrong. Not only that, people came out from all over the world! It was truly amazing to see so many people from so many different walks of life all together in one space to learn about this stuff. I would like to credit Mattie for getting so many people out to Sun Valley, as many of them also were in town for the Summit just days before.
Breaking from the traditional manner of conducting these workshops in which we set up temporary walls to work on, we all worked on the home of a couple who had recently moved to the area. And I think I speak on behalf of everyone in attendance when I say THANK YOU to Katrina and Derek for trusting us with your home. We really appreciate it and hope you enjoy the end product!
Over the course of two days, we managed not only to teach the group how to properly apply the product, but we also we able to work together to coat an entire living room, bedroom, entrance/mud room, dining room, and custom stovetop hood vent! It really is true what they say, many hands make light work. Stay tuned to our blog, Instagram, and Facebook to keep up to date on our next workshop!
